How the handling of your lab tests works with 99Tests.

    Your practice requests lab tests for you on 99Tests, without obligation. We let you know.

  2. 02

    Order

    In the patient portal, you can see all the information on the requested tests and order the handling from 99Tests there.

  3. 03

    Handling

    We send you the required material by mail. If necessary, we organize a blood draw. You can book the sample pickup directly in the patient portal.

  4. 04

    Results & documents

    Your practice decides whether and when we share the results with you. You will also receive GOÄ-compliant documents for submission to your private health insurance or Beihilfe.

02 · Order

What does your test cost?

The costs depend on the lab tests your practice has requested and on various other factors. In any case, your patient portal shows you the costs transparently. Only the costs of a blood draw organized by 99Tests are communicated later.

  • Laboratory servicesBased on the German fee schedule for physicians (GOÄ) and your insurance status.
  • 99Tests service feeFor our services, we charge at most 2.50% of the order value plus €61.47 per order.
  • Blood drawIf 99Tests arranges the blood draw, you will be told the terms in advance. Appointment and payment are arranged directly between you and the blood-draw professional.
  • Sample shippingReturn shipping of unstable samples may cost €31.86 per laboratory involved.
  • Private medical invoiceGOÄ-compliant documents for submission to private health insurance or Beihilfe cost €6.90 per laboratory involved.

Handling guarantee

If a sample cannot be analyzed in the laboratory, you have the choice: a refund of the laboratory fees for the affected parameter – or a repeat of the handling free of charge until the results are complete. Blood-draw costs are excluded.

03 · Handling

Blood draw in the practice or through our network.

If your practice does not carry out the blood draw itself, we can connect you with a blood-draw professional from our network. The blood draw can take place near you or at your home.

99Tests makes the contact and tells you the terms in advance. Appointment and payment are then arranged directly between you and the blood-draw professional.

04 · Results & documents

Your results in the patient portal.

Your practice decides whether and when we share the results with you. As soon as they are released to you, you can view and download them securely in your patient portal.

You will receive GOÄ-compliant documents by mail for submitting the laboratory costs to your private health insurance or Beihilfe.

Health data stays in the portal. E-mails and notifications only say: there is an update.

How do I access my test request?

You will receive two e-mails: one with your login details for the patient portal and one with the link to the tests requested for you. There you can see all the details and order the handling from 99Tests.

What does my test cost?

The costs depend on the lab tests your practice has requested and on various other factors. In any case, your patient portal shows you the costs transparently. Only the costs of a blood draw organized by 99Tests are communicated later.

Where can the blood draw take place?

In your practice, organized privately or through our network in Germany and abroad – at a practice near you or, depending on availability, at your home.

How is a blood draw organized?

We contact a blood-draw professional near you and share the details needed for the request. Age, number of tubes, pre-analytical requirements and the number of laboratories involved affect how much work is involved. You receive the blood-draw fee and contact details in advance. Appointment and payment are arranged directly between you and the blood-draw professional; if a sample pickup is needed, you can book it in the patient portal.

Please have the material we sent you ready and complete at the appointment.

Where do I find my results?

Your practice receives the results and decides whether and when we share them with you. If your practice releases them to you, you will find the results securely in your patient portal.

Can I submit the costs of the lab tests to my private health insurance or Beihilfe?

You will receive GOÄ-compliant documents by mail for submitting the laboratory costs to your private health insurance or Beihilfe. The 99Tests invoice is not suitable for submitting the laboratory services.
